Register

To register an account with OpenProject, navigate to an OpenProject environment (e.g. community.openproject.com).

If you have a Google-Account, you can directly log into OpenProject. Simply click on the  Google button. (Note: Authentication with a Google account is only supported in the Cloud Edition, not in the self-hosted version.)

If you don’t have a Google-Account (of if you use the Community Edition) click on Create new account. You are directed to a registration form where you can create an account.

Fill out the registration form and specify your login and personal information, as well as your password.

The administrator of the OpenProject environment is informed via email about your registration.

Once the administrator activates your user account, you receive an email that you can log into the OpenProject environment.

Login

To login, simply navigate to your OpenProject environment and sign in.

Forgot password

If you have forgotten your password, navigate to your OpenProject environment and click the Forgot your password? link. You will receive an email with further instructions and will be able to create a new password.

How do I register my own OpenProject environment?

You can create your own cloud-based OpenProject environment by going to https://www.openproject.org/, entering the preferred name for your OpenProject environment in the organization field and clicking the “Start Free Trial” button.

How can I test OpenProject?

You can create your own OpenProject environment on https://www.openproject.org/ and test OpenProject for 30 days completely free of charge.

How do I register with the OpenProject community?

If you want to look at the OpenProject roadmap or the forums, you don’t need to register with the community. However to start contributing or asking questions in the forums you need to create an OpenProject account. To register, create an account.

What can I do as a registered community user?

As an OpenProject community member, you can participate by e.g. submitting feature requests, reporting bugs or asking questions in the forums.

I forgot my password – what can I do now?

If you forgot your password you can easily reset it. Simply click on the “Sign in” tab or your OpenProject instance and click the “Forgot your password?” link (for more information see section above).

How can I change my password?

You can change your password in the “My account” settings. For more information take a look at the change password user guide.

Will my OpenProject account be deleted automatically if I don’t use it?

We will not automatically delete your user account. You can however delete your own user account if you wish. This can be done in “My account”.
