OpenProject integration app for Nextcloud released in versions 3.2.0 and 2.12.0

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

We’re pleased to announce the release of OpenProject integration app versions 3.2.0 and 2.12.0 for Nextcloud!

What’s new

This release brings support for project-based semantic work package identifiers, improvements to the integration setup, and several bug fixes and usability improvements that make the integration between OpenProject and Nextcloud more reliable. Version 3.2.0 also includes a technical update to Vue 3.

New features and improvements

This release includes several improvements, including:

  • Added support for project-based semantic work package identifiers in Nextcloud. When these identifiers are enabled in OpenProject, work package links in Nextcloud now display the same semantic identifier instead of the numeric ID.
  • Improved validation error messages for the integration setup API, providing more useful information when configuration values are missing or invalid.
  • Fixed issues when switching an existing integration between OAuth and SSO, ensuring that the required default configuration is applied correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where users could still appear as connected after an existing OAuth integration was converted to SSO.
  • Restored the encryption warning for project folders when server-side encryption is enabled in Nextcloud.
  • Improved access token handling when OpenProject client credentials are reset or recreated by letting OpenProject handle token revocation instead of processing each connected Nextcloud user’s token individually.
  • Fixed the project folder form heading being displayed as disabled while its form fields are available for editing.
  • Fixed an issue where the integration configuration status could be reported incorrectly after resetting and setting up an OAuth integration again with a project folder.
  • Updated the integration app to Vue 3 and the corresponding @nextcloud/vue version in the 3.2.0 release.

The corresponding fixes and improvements are also included in version 2.12.0 for supported Nextcloud versions.

These improvements help provide more consistent work package information across OpenProject and Nextcloud, simplify integration configuration, and improve the overall reliability of the integration.

Update recommendation

We recommend updating through the Nextcloud App Store to benefit from the latest features, bug fixes, compatibility improvements, and overall stability enhancements.

Thank you

Many thanks to the Nextcloud team for their ongoing collaboration and support. We look forward to continuing to improve the integration together.
