Why should I use the OpenProject Cloud Edition?

OpenProject offers a variety of features to support your teams throughout the whole project life-cycle. If you use the OpenProject Cloud Edition you can rely on the OpenProject experts to take care of your OpenProject installation. You do not need to bother about installing and maintaining your OpenProject environment, nor about security fixes and feature updates since you will always receive the latest OpenProject release automatically. Your OpenProject environment will be hosted on reliable and secure servers with high availability and redundancy.

I just signed up for the OpenProject Cloud Edition. When will my OpenProject environment be ready?

Your OpenProject environment will be set up immediately and you can create an account which will be ready immediately. If you have been invited to join an OpenProject environment you will receive an email with login information. If you do not receive the email invitation, please check your Junk email folder. If you still do not find an email contact the person who invited you to their OpenProject environment. They can resend an email invitation or manually set a password so you can log in immediately.

How can I change languages in the OpenProject Cloud Edition?

We support the following languages: English, Chinese (simplified), French, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. There are additional languages (a total of more than 30) which are translated by the OpenProject community. Additional languages are continuously revised and updated. If you want to contribute to the translations, please join our project on Crowdin.You can select the language according to your preferences under My Account. In order for more languages to be available under My Account, you need to activate the languages in the administration panel first.

How can I cancel my account?

Your OpenProject trial environment will be automatically blocked 30 days after it was created, unless you choose a subscription plan. After your OpenProject environment has been blocked, it will be removed after a certain time period.

Can I have a free trial?

Yes. Your first 30 days of using the OpenProject Cloud Edition are free. You can see the remaining days below the project menu and in the header.

How much does the OpenProject Cloud Edition cost me?

The 30 days trial phase is free. After that you can select among various plans, based on the number of projects, users and storage. You can subscribe to a plan in the administration settings of your OpenProject environment.

Are there storage limits?

Yes. The storage limits depend on the plan you have selected.

What if I exceed my limitation of storage, users or projects?

You will be notified if you exceed your limit of storage, users or projects. You will also be provided with some options how you would like to handle this, e.g. upgrading to a bigger plan.

How can I pay?

Currently you can pay by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or by invoice (bank transfer or PayPal).

Can I pay on an annual basis?

Yes, if you pay via invoice you are charged on an annual basis.

How can I get an invoice?

You can download the invoice for all your payments under Modules -> Administration -> Payment history. Additionally, the invoice will be sent to your billing email address.

Can I upgrade my subscription plan?

Yes, you can upgrade to a bigger plan at any time. The change will become effective immediately. You will get a refund on a pro-rata basis for the smaller plan. The new subscription period for the bigger plan will start with the new upgrade date.

Can I downgrade my subscription plan?

Yes, you can downgrade to a smaller plan at any time. It will become effective with the next subscription period.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your subscription at any time by sending us a written notice to our office address or an email to support@openproject.com. The contract terminates with the end of the current subscription period. The price for this period is not reimbursable.

Can I move my self-hosted OpenProject installation to the OpenProject Cloud Edition?

Yes, you can. Please contact us at support@openproject.com and we will discuss the details to arrange the migration of your data.

Can I move data from my hosted OpenProject to an own installation?

Yes, you can. Please contact us at support@openproject.com and we will discuss the details to arrange a data dump to your installation.
